Campaign Story

My husband is legally blind and will go fully blind in a few years. We are trying really hard to make ends meet with fertility treatments and are hoping to have a baby or two before he loses his vision permanently.

We, Adam and Selina, have been together for 14 years but have been actively trying to concieve since 2017. Selina has been using ovulation tests. Negative pregnancy tests. We have been to 3 family planning clinics, and 2 urologists. We were told to just adopt by our first urologist. This broke my heart because we desperately want to be parents. So we tried to find someone else to help us. We have a urologist in another city ~ 1 hour away who works closely with CNY Fertility. The urologist said to switch diets and have been on them to see if that helps my husband’s sperm count. He has been taking various hormone medications and we have been using HCG for him as well. Finally, after a year with the urologist, he said my husband was producing sperm! So he suggested that we talk to CNY to start myself on testing for IVF. I have been with CNY since Feb. 2023 and it has been amazing. My first retrieval was in May 2023. We had 20 eggs retrieved and 11 matured and frozen. We scheduled my husband’s TESE and he, unfortunately, cannot produce viable sperm and won’t be able to have kids of his own. We had to move to plan D, Donor sperm. We ended up with 5 embyros. We had multiple transfers and 3 did not take and one resulted in a blighted ovum. We took a few months off to recover mentally and physically. We tried 1 more transfer earlier in 2024 and it did not take. So we had to go for another egg retrieval. This time, 19 eggs retrieved, 10 mature and 6 fertilized. We ended up with 9 day 5 embryos!! Can’t wait to start implanting those babies for actual babies! We took another break over Summer from transfers due to financial difficulties but hope we can do another round very very soon!

My husband and I have been together for 13 years but have been actively trying to concieve since 2017. I (Selina) has been using ovulation tests trying to get pregnant naturally. Just kept getting negative pregnancy tests every month. We have been to 3 family planning clinics, and 2 urologists. We were even told to just adopt by our first urologist. They found out that he was not producing any sperm. At one point he began producing a small amount of sperm that may be viable for IVF. We scheduled a TESE for him in July 2023 but found out there was no viable sperm and he cannot produce any sperm. We had to move to plan D, Donor sperm. I had my 1st egg retrieval in May 2023. We had 20 eggs retrieved and 11 matured and frozen. We ended up with 5 embyros after the donor sperm was purchased. We had multiple transfers and 3 did not take and one resulted in a blighted ovum. We took a few months off to recover mentally and physically. We tried 1 more transfer earlier in 2024 and it did not take. So we had to go for another egg retrieval in April 2024. This time, 19 eggs retrieved, 10 mature and 6 fertilized. We are pushing to blast and waiting to see those results. We also are going to take a break from transfers due to financial difficulties but hope we can do another round very very soon!
